My new book, The Great Awakening by Jerry Scrivo was written to provide context to the New Testament of the bible. The New Testament only provides detail about Jesus’ Birth, Ministry, Crucifixion, and Resurrection. When it was written no detailed context was needed because eyewitnesses confirmed the accounts. Also, the authors themselves were eyewitnesses and had experience what they recorded firsthand.
Now centuries later readers have only divine inspiration as confirmation of the scriptures and that may not be enough. This book provides needed New Testament historical context.
By going beyond the New Testament, the reader can see how GOD enabled the founding of his church. Also, the book explains why GOD forced creation of the New Testament and how it drove the spread of Christianity.
The truth is that GOD’s written word was the key to surviving persecution and spreading the Gospel. Christianity no longer needed personal missionary journeys by the Apostles to spread the Gospel. To learn the whole story, you must read this book!
